Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Letter from Birmingham Jail

This event will feature the historic “Letter from Birmingham Jail,” authored by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and transcribed by Mrs. Willie Pearl Mackey King on April 16, 1963. Mrs. King will deliver the keynote address and share her firsthand experiences as personal secretary for Dr. King, President, Southern Christian Leadership Conference. The program will include recitations of the letter by community members, as well as exhibitor presentations and networking opportunities.
